As
and when there is a collision between two objects irrespective of whether or
not the objects in motion {but energy is applied from outside through any means
to cause a movement}, there bound to be an explosion or a burst or an ignition
through production of a spark. As and when the impact is of high value, there
bound to a fire at the impact point which may or may not be serious to claim
lives. Further when there is loose fuel, around such area, fire shall immediately
engulf the scene; leaving not enough time to any to flee from the zone.
Throughout
the Globe we see such accidents continuously happening either on land or on water
or in Air; no matter how much care we take to prevent it from happening but not
all accidents resulted in catching of fire due to absence of production of
sparks at the area of impact. As and when we face with such situation due to malfunctioning
of Engine while flying in an Aircraft, we drain-off the fuel from the Plane
prior to happening of a possible impact to save the lives of the Passengers.
Accordingly
the catching of fire of two Volvo Busses, one after another within a very span
of 2 weeks is a matter of deep concern being it is often unusual to see catching
of fire of the Bus under such circumstances without a direct spark available
around the area of the Accident to instantly force the Fuel Tank to get burst. While
we appreciate the various suggestions of the Expert committee to overcome or to
avoid such Accidents from happening which are mostly of precautionary nature for
attacking the issue, the under noted deign change of the Fuel Tank shall eliminate
the cause of occurring such Accidents within us to a large extent.
A Deign Change
It
is not exactly the fuel {except Aviation Fuel} that instantly catches fire but
the vapors produced inside the Tank by the loose Fuel does it. While making or
undertaking a long travel, the more the Fuel Tank become empty, the more is the
production of such vapors inside the Tank which cannot absorb any high
intensity impact without crossing the flash point to catch fire immediately; as
and when there exit even a small spark around. In order to avoid producing of such
high stress within the Tank due to continuous jerking of the Fuel, filled
within it, we can provide an inflatable plastic Rubber {having 10-15 PSI
pressure within it} inside the Fuel Tank, which shall constantly keep the
highly inflammable Fuel under constant compression and shall not allow much of
vapor to produce inside the Tanks. Such a measure which can easily be installed
everywhere, where we store inflammable material as a foolproof security measure
of an appropriate nature. This shall not only cut down loss of Fuel through
vaporization but also shall stop happening of Fatal Road Accidents as we have
witnessed recently.
